Asia Kuyper Institute

Welcome to the Asia Kuyper Institute. 

Abraham Kuyper (1837–1920) was a Dutch Christian leader who was active in church ministry, politics, journalism, and education. Despite living over a century ago, his ideas are considered by many modern scholars to be of great relevance and value to Christians in the 21st century. 

To make Kuyper's insights globally accessible, scholars have championed the digitization of his extensive works (https://sources.neocalvinism.org/kuyper; for English translation see https://www.logos.com/product/55067/abraham-kuyper-collected-works-in-public-theology). Today, this renaissance in Kuyper research is expanding rapidly into non-English-speaking regions as well.

In response to these global developments, we are establishing an institute of young Asian Christian scholars to study Abraham Kuyper. Our mission is to explore the relevance of Kuyper’s thought for contemporary Asian Christians and to carefully adapt his ideas to the unique cultural and social contexts of various Asian countries. To bridge theory and practice, this research institute will host both academic initiatives and engaging public events. We welcome you to join us and collaborate with us.
